The Transformation of School Dropouts Through Equivalency Education at PKBM Cantiry
Keywords:
Adolescent Transformation, Equivalence Education, PKBM CantiryAbstract
This study aims to explore the transformation process of school dropouts through equivalence education programs at the Cantiry Community Learning Center (PKBM). School dropouts often face social stigma and limited economic access, making non-formal education a crucial pathway for reclaiming their self-existence. Using a qualitative method with a case study approach, this research delves into how the flexible curriculum and inclusive learning environment at PKBM Cantiry play a role in altering the mindset and skills of the students. The results indicate that transformation occurs not only in academic aspects but also in character building, self-confidence, and the future orientation of the adolescents. These findings confirm that equivalence education is effective in breaking the chain of social marginalization for youth who have lost access to formal education. This research contributes to the development of psychosocial assistance models within non-formal education in Indonesia.
